Adopting a Green Lifestyle: The Advantages of Hybrid Cars
ByThe history of mankind drastically changed with the discovery of fossil fuels and their capacity to power up automobiles.
Technology enabled the mass production of cars and allowed a big percentage of households to experience a revolution in transportation.
Cars evolved from a status symbol to a necessary item for families. However, fossil fuel is non-renewable and when burned to make cars move, they emit carbon dioxide, which pollutes the air. Worse, this type of fuel burns inefficiently when a car is at its idle state or slowly moving.
The Advantages of Hybrid Cars

Advantages of hybrid cars have been developed to address the various constraints imposed by fossil fuels on our environment and our lifestyles.
Hybrids, as they are popularly coined, are gas saver devices and advantageously fuel-efficient by leaps and bounds relative to their conventional counterparts.
A hybrid is powered by a twin-motor system, which operates on electricity when idle or at low speed (below 40 miles per hour) and shifts to fuel when running at high speed (40 miles per hour and above).
This car type also features an on board battery, which provides electrical power and charges when the fuel motor starts working.
Unlike electrical cars that have limited power supply and needs to be plugged to a source to re-charge, one of the advantages of hybrid cars is that hybrids charge their own batteries.
Today, hybrid cars are slowly gaining popularity. It is one of the critical advantages of hybrid cars that have been introduced to a generation that highly depends on automobiles to get from one destination to another.
In a world of traffic congestion, escalating fuel prices and alarming changing weather patterns, hybrids provide us relief and hope.
They are not the ultimate solutions to our environmental, social and consumption woes but they signal a changing course in national policies and individual lifestyles that re-focus attention back to mother Earth.
