The history of mankind drastically changed with the discovery of fossil fuels and their capacity to power up automobiles.

Technology enabled the mass production of cars and allowed a big percentage of households to experience a revolution in transportation.

Cars evolved from a status symbol to a necessary item for families. However, fossil fuel is non-renewable and when burned to make cars move, they emit carbon dioxide, which pollutes the air. Worse, this type of fuel burns inefficiently when a car is at its idle state or slowly moving.
